Just like many other Google products, Google Plus made waves when it was first announced, even more so when it actually launched. There is, however, this thing about many a Google product. It seems some of them never really go past beyond the initial ripples, and they eventually die off.

This is what many people are saying about Google Plus, which initially was touted as THE alternative to Facebook. There were – perhaps, are – many things going for Google Plus, but the negative things being said about it cannot be totally ignored. For sure, you have heard terms such as “ghost town” being used in reference to the platform.

I don’t think that you need to be a rocket scientist to figure out that being on Facebook – or any other social network for that matter – while studying might just be a distraction that can lead to lower grades. Are you on Pinterest yet? I remember when I first heard of the site some time last year. At that time, I was working on a project that required dealing a lot with images of delectable food. When my boss explained the concept of Pinterest, I was not overly excited, but I did sign up. Sad to say, I didn’t – and don’t – really spend a lot of time on there. One thing is for sure, though: whenever I log in to my account, time does tend to pass by because of those eye-catching images you see everywhere!

So Pinterest is the hottest thing in the online scene it seems. People have been dubbing it the hottest web site in 2012. Others have been calling it the hangout for women who love to look at shoes and clothes and hairstyles. There are men who do spend time on Pinterest looking and pinning at I don’t know what. By now, you probably have seen Pinterest one time too many to ignore it. This relatively new web site is making waves, and huge waves they are! I wouldn’t be surprised if you already have an account and are using it on a regular basis.

I started using Pinterest personally some time last year when a friend mentioned it to me, but I have not been that active.
