There are days when I am on an app rampage and start my day by looking at what can be downloaded for free or for a small fee. Occasionally, I come across a relatively pricey app that I might still consider getting just because I think it’s worth it. Some things I haven’t really paid much attention to, though, are apps from artists that I like.
Today, I had a pleasant surprise while browsing TUAW ((TUAW)). Two of the artists I never hesitate to listen to have released biography apps! News about Pink Floyd and Sting biography apps – how’s that to make one’s day?
Sting’s app is for the iPad only, sad to say. That means I can’t download it on my trusty iPhone. The upside is that Sting’s bio app is for free. Do not expect to be able to listen to his awesome voice crooning you to relaxation, though. The app is all about life of Sting – 25 years of his career. If you are true fan, you will be wriggling with excitement about the pieces of trivia that you can pick up from the app. And yes, there is eye candy as well.
The Pink Floyd app, on the other hand, will set you back $2.99. A little pricier than your regular $0.99 apps, but still within reasonable range, especially if you are a true blue Pink Floyd fan.
Another plus for this app is that it was designed for both the iPhone and the iPad. Prepare to be fascinated with trivia, song notes for their albums, and even a quiz to prove just how much of a Pink Floyd junkie you are! I think that what attracts me most are the song notes. You know just how trippy their songs are!
For music lovers, the Pink Floyd and Sting biography apps will keep you off the streets for a while. And if you are not a fan of either artist, then for sure, you will have someone in your life who will appreciate this piece of news.
