If you’ve been using Google Maps for researching on good places to visit, or great restaurants to dine or for simply finding out about a certain area, you’ll be glad to know that Google has just added a nice feature called Place Pages. So let’s say you found an interesting location on Google Maps. You click on the pin marker to bring up the mini-bubble that would give you a brief information for that particular area. To learn more about that area which the mini bubble could not contain, click on the more info link. Then a new whole page will display containing comprehensive information about the place including photos, videos, street view preview and more.
It’s pretty cool right? Obviosuly Google is gearing up its Google Maps to become a one stop-shop for localized information. Something like the Wikipedia of Places with interactive features to boot.
So if you operate a local business, you might want to get free advertisement by placing it on Google Maps and adding a Place Page for your business. You can get more information from the Local Business Center.
