Technology is an amazing thing. If you take some time to look back at science fiction movies from a couple decades (or more) ago you’ll find that a lot of the things that were once thought as only fiction are factual now. Things that we once thought were impossible are happening now in the world of technology.
Smartphones and computers are continually getting smaller and taking up less space. Plus, the technology that is arriving isn’t just all about helping people, like those devices used in hospitals and in the military, it’s also about making things people can get a little personal enjoyment out of. Here are some fun technological advances you may want to get your hands on.
Virtual Reality
Virtual reality got its start in the fictional world of movies, but it was likely in the works in some science lab somewhere at the time. It first came out as a gimmick with some video games and such. It probably didn’t work that great when it was first introduced to the public.
However, not virtual reality is commonplace, and it is used to get on the internet, play games, and more. It won’t be long and VR will be a staple in everyone’s home, just like the color TV and the laptop computer.
Wireless Gaming
When video games first started you had to go to the arcade to play them. Then Atari brought consoles into the home and helped to revolutionize gaming (with the assistance of the Sears company). Graphics were primitive compared to the systems of today, and you had to stay connected to the system via wire, meaning you had to sit close to the TV.
Now you have wireless controllers for all of the systems that are coming out, and with game systems like the Wii you can get up and place and move around. Gaming is now a form of fitness for some folks.
Smartphone Gaming
It all started with PokemonGo and the way you game with smartphone apps was completely changed forever. Now there are other games like it, and some people can’t play them on their older phones, but it is still a popular phenomenon and gets games up off their butts and out socializing.
RC
While RC cars and planes have been around for decades, the way you control them has changed. You also have drones that are being flown via remote control. So what’s the difference? Well, now your smartphone can control your RC fun and you can get more out of your play time with the simple download of an app.
In fact, these days you can control almost anything from your phone, from toys to your thermostat. It’s kind of amazing.
