If you’re a fan of Flickr and the gazillions of photos uploaded to the Flickr server, you’ll be glad to know that you can now create galleries for interesting photos that you find on the Flickr-versee. The new feature would let you select up to 18 photos from Flickr and save them into an online photo gallery for a more organized way of viewing later on.
In other words the new Gallery feature of Flickr is telling us to become individual curators of Flickr photos which are in the public domain. An easier way of looking at this new feature is to think of it as Flickr set or photostream. But unlike these two, Flickr galleries contain photos from other people instead of coming from you.
What’s so good about Flickr’s gallery feature is the fact that Flickr will send up email updates everytime one of your photos is get used by another Flickr member to become part of his created gallery.
In addition, you can also organize these galleries to include general notes and individual description of each of the photos, making it as some sort of an online photo album of other people’s Flickr photos created by yourself.
