Like all of you, I’ve been a silent witness to Facebook’s growth and its overtaking of MySpace in terms of unique visitors. Latest figures from comScore showed that Facebook’s unique visitors for June reached the 77 million mark already. This is a big leap from the unique visitors in May which is roughly 70.28 million.Interestingly, while the Facebook guys will be counting significant increase of unique visitors right now, the MySpace folks will be counting how many visitors they have lost from May to June.
MySpace lost around 4 million unique visitors in June. This is in addition to the 700,000 unique visitors it has registered for May.
This issue comes in right after it was reported that MySpace is cutting down 30% of its US Team. This translatr to a total of 420 employees.
In a related note, Bloomberg is also reporting that Facebook’s automated online system clients have also increased in June. This only goes to show that many small and medium-sized businesses are using the ad system for their ad targeting program.
So now that Facebook has beaten MySpace, they should now be focusing on another rival which is also continously growing. And that our dear readers pertains to our beloved Twitter.
