Social media is one of the fastest growing, most exciting and unpredictable industries. In just the past few years, it has gone from nonexistence, to something used only by teenagers and lonely singles, to something that is almost as important as breathing for any person hoping to keep in the know. Companies are finally starting to take notice of the importance of social media, and they are devoting real resources to becoming a presence online. It is hard to say exactly what will happen in the near future, as one of the main features of social media is its unpredictability. But what is certain is that it is going to be a bigger force than it has ever been before.

How long have you been living in the stream? Do you find yourself thinking about a thought is worth tweeting or not – more regularly than could be appropriate? Do you find yourself using words that language purists would frown upon, words that have been born out of too much time on Twitter?

And one way to get the word out even more is to get retweets – as many as you can; and the more retweets you get, the better.
So how do you go about getting retweets? [Read more…] about The Art of Getting Retweets
Instagram Got a $525M Offer From Twitter
Everyone knows by now that Facebook owns Instagram. (Or maybe because of that fact as well?) In any case, when it was released for Android, Instagram got even more popular, with everyone and their mom suddenly transforming into budding photographers.
The story of Instagram does not stop there. Early this year, the social network we all love and hate made moves to acquire Instagram. It stated its desire, made known its plans for Instagram to continue being independently managed, the FTC did its thing, and in September of this year, Instagram officially became part of the Facebook family.
