For the average Internet user, web design may be no man’s land. It could seem a world beyond one’s grasp, something that is best left to the pros. While there is truth in that – in all likelihood, the pros can do a better job with less effort – it does not discount the possibility of a newbie or a non-pro creating a simple web site that looks good and functions well. Truth be told, I believe that while there are people who are born with an eye for good design, that eye can be developed with time and practice as well.

They say that learning a foreign language is one of the best things you can do to expand your horizons. After all, learning to speak a language other than your native tongue does a lot to open your mind – not only to a new way of expressing yourself verbally, but also opening up to a new culture and a different way of thinking. social meowdiaIt’s official. Those feline creatures really do rule the Internet. No matter how much we, dog people, try to deny it, cats have the power. And social media is not exempt! (I know, this was official 10 years ago. I’ve been living like an ostrich with regard to this.) Heck, take a look at cats’ social media profiles (of which there are quite a lot) and you’ll see they have more followers than you and your mom!

We’ve seen our share of memes following the “social media explained” theme – from donuts to peeing to coffee to superheroes…

This time, it’s all about cats. And I suppose these creatures serve as appropriate subjects if you really want your infographic to spread like wildfire via social media. Kim Dotcom is obviously not his real name, but isn’t that a brilliant name to replace something as ordinary as Kim Schmitz? Well, okay, his real last name may not be that ordinary, but the recall value of Dotcom is just incomparable. Although it’s not as if this guy needs even more recall value.

Together with his name, you probably have been hearing about “MEGA” left and right in the past few months. MEGA is the successor of Megaupload, which was founded by the Finnish-German national who now calls New Zealand home.
