I have only recently really gotten into Doctor Who, in spite of the fact that I have been reading and writing about the show for a while. One of my resolutions for this year, in fact, is to finally start watching the TV series which has got everyone (at least in my circle) hooked. Unsurprisingly, a single episode was enough to get me. I can now say that I am into the Doctor. So much so that I can go on a Doctor Who marathon without succumbing to sleep or other activities, but not so much that I have Doctor Who collectibles. (I have to admit that his current companion, Amy Pond also makes the show a lot more interesting.) [Read more…] about New World Record Set For Largest Daleks Collection
Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-4 Model More Expensive Than the Real Thing
How much would you pay for a car? Not just any car, mind you, a super car that you would not want to drive on the road every day. Lamborghini has long been a major player in the auto world, but they might just have been given a run for their money by model car maker Robert Gülpen. The Audi Ring Will Make You Want to See the Frankfurt Motor Show Even More
It’s not like anyone would need any other reason to go to the Frankfurt Motor Show. This annual event draws countless visitors from every corner of the world. This year, the show is being held from the 13th of September to the 25th. And this year, there is an added bonus to going to the show – thanks to car manufacturer Audi.
The Audi Ring, as pictured above, is a temporary building created especially for this event. ((Via)) Of course, something so breathtaking ought to be used for more than one show, don’t you think? VoiceMan – Real Time Voice Minute Manager
The app is called VoiceMan, and it seems to me that it has a lot of potential to help you monitor just how much your voice calls cost you. With the iPhone, you can do practically everything and more often than not, it is the data usage that gets people in trouble. At least that’s the prevailing idea. Hence, people do pay a lot of attention to their data usage, sometimes at the cost of forgetting about the voice calls. (Of course, if you have unlimited plans, this is not a problem. But how many people actually do have unlimited minutes?) [Read more…] about VoiceMan – Real Time Voice Minute Manager
Google Music Beta Bypasses iOS App Store
And, of course, Google has jumped on this idea and has bypassed the iOS App Store with its latest offering – Google Music Beta. Basically, what happens is that users can directly steam music from the cloud to devices such as the iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad. ((Source))
How is Google doing this? The answer is simple: Google has utilized HTML to create a web interface that is specific to iOS devices. [Read more…] about Google Music Beta Bypasses iOS App Store
5G Wireless Technology Soon to Come?
It used to be that I was happy with 3G. It was decent, although not superfast. And for what I need to do while on the road (e.g., check email, check in on Foursquare, check Facebook, and tweet), 3G served its purpose. It still does, depending on the location. However, the places I frequent these days are just so congested that I can even barely check email on my phone at times! I guess I’ll just have to dream about the day 4G actually becomes usable here.
While I am at it, I might as well dream big, though. A new wireless technology – the predecessor of 4G – is almost completed, and if you and I are lucky, we might just get to enjoy it before we die. Not surprisingly, the technology is already being dubbed 5G wireless technology, and it is supposed to double wireless capacity as we know it today.
