YouTube, Hulu and other video streaming sites will soon face a tough competitor, and it goes by the name VideoBay. If that sounds awfully familiar to you, yes you guessed it right, it’s from the same people who brought us the ever controversial PirateBay.
So, with that in mind, VideoBay is practically PirateBay for videos. As such it aims to offer us, online video hungry individuals with pirated TV shows and Hollywood movies in all their HD glory. And that goes without saying that it will be a hazzle-free experience right on our web browsers.
VideoBay is currently in development stage. The current status of the site makes no promises of working properly or working fine without bugs. In fact a short note on the site says – Don’t expect anything to work at all. Statements like that coming from the site developers/owners could certainly spell doom for competitors such as YouTube and Hulu. As this only goes to show how VideoBay is taking on the online video niche. And that is unstructured, unorthodox manner. Basing this on experience, we all know how YouTube started.
Incidentally, if you care to know, VideoBay is exploring the possibility of using the HTML5 features, more particularly the <video> and <audio> tag as it embarks on an experimental journey on coming up with an alternative video streaming/wathing/downloading site.
Will VideoBay repeat what YouTube was able to accomplish? Only time will tell. But of course, expect a few legal hurdles here and there as VideoBay prepares to gear up for battle.
